Welcome to St Thomas' in the Groves! We are a small, but growing, church in the heart of the Groves area of York. We are committed to reaching out into our local community – serving people who are in need, and above all showing God’s love as best we can. We want to celebrate what God is doing in this wonderful part of His world.

Although we normally meet together each Sunday at 10.30am, and we hope that people find our gatherings welcoming, family-friendly, and full of God’s presence, because of the coronavirus pandemic we are not able to meet in person but instead are moving online and making other provisions for pastoral support.

If you live in this part of York, you can be assured that we are praying that God will richly bless you and that you will know his love and goodness in your life.

There's a lot happening on our facebook page with talks, services, children's stuff and chat.

St Thomas News - 25th November 2020

Dear Church,

Last Thursday we enjoyed an evening of prayer, out of which came some encouraging verses and thoughts. I've attached a document with them, and I thought the themes were mainly about finding security and refuge in closeness to God, and about taking his love and goodness out to others in the community. Please do get in touch if you have anything else to share.

On Sunday at 10.30am, join us once again online for our livestream service - the first Sunday of Advent! I'll be looking at Ezra 9, as we come towards the end of the Book. Follow on FacebookYoutube or Zoom (631 970 6882) as usual.

Call to Prayer November 2020

The Archbishops of the C of E (as well as other denominations and organizations like the Evangelical Alliance) are urging Christians to prioritize prayer throughout this time of lockdown. There are some resources you might like to use (here). In particular, we are encouraged:
- to pray at 6pm each day (suggestions for things to pray for on each day of the week in the resources)
- to fast and pray on Thursdays through lockdown

Home Groups during the Pandemic
