Welcome to St Thomas'! We are a small, but growing, church in the heart of the Groves area of York. We are committed to reaching out into our local community – serving people who are in need, and above all showing God’s love as best we can. We want to celebrate what God is doing in this wonderful part of His world.

We meet together each Sunday at 10.30am, and we hope that you will find our gatherings welcoming, family-friendly, and full of God’s presence.

If you live in this part of York, you can be assured that we are praying that God will richly bless you and that you will know his love and goodness in your life.

St Thomas News - 8th March 2019

Dear all,

This Sunday, Jose will be sharing her testimony with us. I have been convinced for some time that this is something we need to hear, so I am excited. Life With God series finishes (for now) this week - we are thinking about 'dying to self'. 6pm in the hall.

As our series about generosity and giving comes to an end, I'd love to encourage you to stop and pray. Since prompts and dates are often helpful, I'd like to suggest we all take time to review our giving (whether or not we change it!) before March 17th.

The Groves Association would like for someone from St Thomas' to be on their committee. This would be one good way for us to be involved in the community and in thinking about regeneration in the Groves. Please let me know if you would be interested in doing this.

Later in March, there are a few things to mention.

On Sat 23rd, there is the Talking Jesus event aimed at encouraging us to share our faith with others (Manor School, 10-3.30). On Sunday 24th, from 12-4pm is Door 84's 8th birthday event along the road on Lowther St - more here. There is also a Women's Day with Liz Ransford speaking on March 30th at Christ Church. (A warning to those considering going - my Auntie Les will be there.)

A reminder, too, that we will be holding our AGM/Celebration service on March 31st - please do sign up for the electoral roll (a whole new roll is made this year, so everyone has to sign up again), and also please do think about whether you might be able to serve on the PCC (governing body) of St Thomas' or as a representative on the deanery synod. Please let me know if you'd like to know more.

And please pray this week for Dan Thomas who goes to his selection conference for ordination!

You may also like to read the  'ideas for Lent' which I sent out earlier in the week. Hope to see you soon,
