St Thomas News - 29th May 2019
This Thursday sees the ten-day 'wave of prayer', Thy Kingdom Come, begin. The simplest idea is to pray for five people daily. Maybe some of them will be people you could invite to our event on the school field on June 9th, or to the Minster at 7pm that evening.
This Friday at 7pm is a chance to pray with others from across the city at Central Methodist Church.
Then on Sunday 9th at 7pm is the celebration a the Minster. My friend Paul Myers will be sharing about how God changed his life - bring someone along to to hear!
Earlier in the day (12-3pm, Sunday 9th) is our event on Haxby Rd school field
- a short interactive service, then BBQ, music, games, etc. Let me know if you can help - setting up, baking, running games, cooking etc, and do invite friends! There will be flyers to deliver on Sunday - it would be great for the news of the event to get out across the parish.
There's NO SERVICE in church on June 9th.
Next Wednesday (June 5th, 10am) is the first Luke's Larder in our church hall - that's a pay as you feel supply of surplus supermarket food. Again, do get the word out - please let me or Alison Stirk know if you could offer help on June 5th, 9-10am in particular. Luke's Larder will be in the hall every Wednesday in June, July and August.
On Saturday 15th June, 2pm, Come and Sing! In church, a chance to join in with Gospel Choir and get a taste of what it's all about. With an informal concert at 6pm.
Hope to see you soon!
