St Thomas News - 30th October 2019
Next Monday (7.30pm) is the return of Gospel Choir! There will be five Monday rehearsals before the Carol Service (Sun 8th December) - could you be join the choir for the next few weeks? This is a great outreach but also needs support from church members to really make it work. And, of course, the bigger the choir, the better for the carol service too.
Sunday 10th November is our special Remembrance service - 10.30am start as usual.
We will have another 'Taste and See' evening of worship and seeking God on Sunday 17th, 7pm. Please do let me know if you have creative ideas that might feed into these evenings.
There is a Men's Breakfast on Nov 23rd with a focus on thinking about men's ministry and activities in the future - continuing with breakfasts, other ideas. Please come and get involved with the discussion.
And in a weekend of breakfasts, we are also hoping to have a breakfast for families (especially for inviting those at Babes and Tots or other friends and contacts) before the All Age Service on Nov 24th.
CHRISTMAS is coming:
A reminder that I'm looking for someone to co-ordinate Besom hampers (this basically means being the contact with Besom, groups in St Thomas' who are making the hampers, and ensuring the hampers are delivered - we usually do about 10). Please let me know if you could do this.
Other things we are doing in Advent:
Christmas Carol Service - Sunday 8th, 7pm (No morning service on this day, but an encouragement to support the Door 84 community event, 12-4)
Christingle Service - Sunday 15th, 4pm
There will also be one or two women's events (details forthcoming) and various opportunities for carol singing, including at Community Sparks (in Door 84) on December 10th. Perhaps we should do a special Christmas cafe on election day?! (just thought of that).
Hope to see you soon,
