St Thomas News 1st August 2021

Dear Church Family,

It was great to be singing again in church last week! I think many people found that a very moving experience. Thanks to all who were in church for your grace and consideration of one another - all seemed to go well. This Sunday Pete Platts will be speaking from Acts 13, and you can come to church or watch online on Facebook or YouTube or join the Zoom call (631 970 6882).

Before then, Rob and Charlotte Hazell are celebrating their marriage and would love to invite you: "Hello everyone! As many of you know (and watched online!), we got married last year :) As we only had a small number of guests, we are having a 'marriage celebration' service this year so that more friends and family can join us! If you are free on Friday (30th), our marriage blessing service is happening at 1pm at St Michael le Belfrey (next to the Minster). We'd love for you to be there! Hot drinks and cake will be served too :) Normal wedding attire encouraged!"
(There is an excellent preacher...)

There are some great online conferences taking place over the next couple of weeks. New Wine United has a huge amount of free online content (not least morning teaching from David Parker) starting July 29th. There's also a printable schedule. And Keswick Convention is also online and free (I've been told the Rico Tice talks have been excellent). So do make the most of these brilliant resources!

It's also that time of year (already?!) when some of us like to think about picking a Fantasy Premier League team. We usually have a St Thomas' league and this season is no different. If you want to pick a squad and enter, the code the you need to join the league is: e8fofu

This week the Thursday communion and cafe from 12.30 continues, as well as the Zoom prayer meeting next Tuesday at 9am.

God bless,

Al
