St Thomas News 2nd September 2021
This Sunday we will have our first All Age service since we've been back together in the building - we'll be thinking about 'faith' following on from Phil's talk last week. Please do come along, but for those who are unable to we continue to stream online on Facebook and YouTube.
We are excited and delighted that Bubbles (pre-school) and Splash/Waves (year 1 upwards) will return on Sep 19th!
Sunday 12th September will be rather different, as Louise and Caleb are getting married! (For any who don't know, both have worked here at St Thomas' over the past few years - Louise moved to Belgium in 2020, and Caleb will be joining her very soon.) This service will be at 11.45am and Louise and Caleb are very keen for you all to be invited to join this celebration.
At 9.30am that day, we will have a short, spoken communion service for anyone who would like that.
Building Development Project:
It's coming towards decision time in terms of where we go next with our hoped-for plans for repair and reordering. Claire Smith will be leading a workshop which will be your big opportunity to have your say and help shape our priorities at this stage. There are two dates (same workshop) - in church on Sat 25th September, 10.30am-12.30pm, or online (Zoom 631 970 6882) on Tuesday 28th, 6.30-8pm.
We continue for the time being with Zoom prayer meeting on Tuesdays at 9am, praying for the church and local community. We also continue with the communion service on Thursdays at 12.30, followed by tea and cake and chat.
On Thursday evenings, the 'Download' group runs in the church hall, and all are invited to hear ex-Gladiator Warren Furman (Ace Active) sharing about his faith on September 9th.
And finally for now, there is an event at the Belfrey which all are invited to:
Date for you Diary - Hearing God: An Evening of Worship, Prayer & Encouragement with Eleanor Mumford
The Belfrey is delighted to announce that Eleanor Mumford, one of the founders of the Vineyard Church in the UK, will be joining us along with some close friends to host an evening of worship, prayer and encouragement on Wednesday 8th September at 7.30pm at St Michael le Belfrey Church. Ele is a gifted speaker full of wisdom and insight, and the evening will be a massive encouragement to all of us. Please book a seat here, and feel free to invite others!
Hope to see you soon. God bless,
