St Thomas News - 28th March 2020

Dear Church,

Tomorrow at 10.30am will be our second ever live-streamed service! This time, in accordance with stern C of E guidelines, it will be coming from the vicarage. Please do tune in, as last week, on either YouTube of Facebook (no Instagram this time, I'm afraid):
tinyurl.com/sttsyorkyoutube
facebook.com/stthomasyork

It was so encouraging to see the interaction and to hear your feedback last time, and please feel free to invite anyone else to join in! (For those wanting to find song words, we think we will be doing When I Survey, Sovereign Over Us and This is Amazing Grace.)

In this ever-changing situation, one absurd thing remains the same - the clocks change tonight!

In addition to the service tomorrow, we will have a prayer meeting on Tuesday at 9am on Zoom.

St Thomas News - 25th March 2020

Dear Church,

Following the stricter guidelines that have come into force this week, we are now not allowed to open the church for private prayer, nor indeed to live-stream from church as we did last Sunday. However, a live-stream from the vicarage is allowed, and so you will be able to follow from YouTube and Facebook once again - more details nearer the time. (There may indeed be noisy kids in the background this time, after all!)

We are keeping some things going digitally: there was an online Gospel Choir on Monday, and will be a virtual Babes and Tots group on Friday (see facebook.com/stthomasyork or get in touch for more details).

I have attached the latest daily readings from 1 Peter to the readings for Lent. These will continue until Sat 4th April, and then there will be something different to take us through Holy Week.

St Thomas News - 22nd March 2020

Dear Church,

Thank you for joining in this morning's online service! What an encouragement. If you didn't watch, but would like to, it's still there

Charlotte has written a post for families with lots of ideas!

I have added the next three days of the Lent readings from 1 Peter, and more will follow on Wednesday (I haven't had time to get ahead this week!).

And tomorrow, the church will be open from 12-1 for private prayer if you are local and not in a high risk category!

God bless,

Al

Live Stream Service Details 21-03-20

Dear Church,

We are excited to say that, thanks to some hard work from Louise and Caleb, we are set up for a a live-streamed (and pared back!) service tomorrow! I have a message ready to bring in response to this extraordinary situation.
You can (we hope!) join in at 10.30am tomorrow by going to any of these places:
(For now, you need to follow that link for the YouTube channel, for some reason just going to YouTube and searching for 'St Thomas York' doesn't bring anything up - but I'm sure we'll sort that at some point!)
We also hope to update other content, for families, teaching, home groups, etc. Please get in touch if you are confused by any of this and need help!
Hope to see you all at 10.30am tomorrow - but please don't come to church.
God bless,
Al
