St Thomas News - 15th May 2020
I'm delighted that so many of you are finding the online services and other content, and the Groves Groceries, helpful and encouraging. This period is another reminder of the blessing of being part of God's family.
We'll be meeting again on Sunday at 10.30am for our main weekly service (Facebook and YouTube). Again we'll be streaming from Zoom, so there'll be a family-friendly prayer activity led by Charlotte, and others involved too. Keep praying the technology works!
Again we'll have prayer ministry offered afterwards on Zoom (meeting ID is again 631 970 6882).
The songs this week will be: It Is Well with my Soul (Spafford); Lord I Lift Your Name on High (Founds); Cornerstone (Hillsong); Amazing Grace - My Chains Are Gone (Chris Tomlin); In Christ Alone (Townend)
We've been able to make some DVDs of recent services for those who don't have internet but would like to watch. If you know of anyone, please let me know.

Another week passes! For the time being, we are continuing as we have been doing, so not too much to update you on (a list of activities is below).
On Sunday, we are again broadcasting live to YouTube and Facebook at 10.30am. This time, we are streaming from Zoom, which means that Phil and Marian can lead prayers from their own sofa! Charlotte will also be telling the Bible story in a way to engage the kids - following this she'll suggest a craft for which families will need: coloured paper (plain if not); string; hole punch; coloured pencils/pens.
Again, there will be prayer meeting offered via Zoom after the service. Apologies for some confusion about the code last week. This week (and in future weeks) it will be: 631-970-6882.
This week's songs: How Great is Our God; King of Me (action song); Lord, You Hear the Cry (by Geraldine Latty); This is Amazing Grace; Tell Out, My Soul.
Various people will also be leading Daily Prayers via the Facebook Page - Mon-Fri at 1pm. These will be livestreamed, and so there will be a chance to share prayer requests via comments on the page. We'll trial this next week and see how it goes!

While we continue to miss gathering together, I'm so pleased that lots of you are appreciating the various online things that are going on. This is just to keep you up to date with what's happening over the next few days:
Friday at 6pm, Louise is leading a time of prayer and worship. Join her on the Facebook page.
Sunday at 10.30am, we're live again from the vicarage on Facebook and YouTube - hopefully now a bit better quality on the latter!
This week, I will use some informal liturgy and take bread and wine as part of the service. I encourage you to participate at home in whatever way you find appropriate and helpful.
There will also be prayer ministry offered again at 11.30am via Zoom (the ID you need is 631-970-6882). This worked well last time - if you join the Zoom meeting, you will receive prayer privately and confidentially from two people on our prayer ministry team.
The songs we are singing this Sunday: All Through History (Becky Drake); Here for You (Matt Redman); Who You Say I Am (Hillsong); The Power of the Cross (Townend); Love Divine (Wesley).

We've chalked up another week in lockdown - congratulations! Here's what virtual (and even, in one case, physical) good things are going on:
- Today, Louise is leading another Taste and See Worship/Prayer time - 6pm on the Facebook page.
- We'll be live from the vicarage again on Sunday at 10.30am. Internet upgrade on the way, but won't be here in time for this week I'm afraid. This week we are going to offer prayer ministry afterwards (11.30am) via Zoom. (Zoom allows for 'meeting rooms' so you can be prayed for in a private space by members of our prayer ministry team.) To join, use the Zoom meeting ID: 878 6290 8176.
(Songs this week: I Stand Amazed (Charles Gabriel); Shine (Nick Jackson); King of Kings (Jarrod Cooper); This is Love (New Wine); Crown Him with Many Crowns)
- We'll be meeting to pray again on Zoom on Tuesday at 9am. ID: 450-932-4607

As we reach the end of week four of Rycroft Home School, I'm glad to say none of the pupils have yet been expelled. Anyway, our online church activities are still continuing - tune in on Sunday at 10.30 for another episode from the vicarage (facebook.com/stthomasyork or tinyurl.com/sttsyorkyoutube), hopefully this time I'll get my head in the shot. This week's songs will be:
Good News (Vineyard, action song!)
This is our God (Hillsong)
All Heaven Declares (Noel Richards)
Thine Be the Glory (we have to get the most out of it at Easter, possibly with organ effect again)
Tonight at 6pm, I believe we are continuing with livestreamed worship with Louise on the Facebook page.
Please do send prayer requests, or testimonies you would like to share. If you can record a little video testimony, we can share them on our pages.
COMING UP NEXT WEEK:
