Call to Prayer
Apologies for being late on to this and not mentioning on Sunday - you may have heard that the Archbishops have called for a month of prayer in February, praying for our nation in the midst of the pandemic. The suggestion is to pray at 6pm each day, and there are themes and prayers you can use here.
Lent is approaching, and it would be great to do something together, even as we are apart. The Church of England has produced 'Live Lent', which has short daily readings as well as small group resources. If you would like the daily readings digitally, you can sign up for emails or download an app - we're also ordering plenty of booklets, so please let me know if you or someone you know would like one.
Other Things Coming Up:
Difference Course - Jo Bloss and Ruth Dunlop are running a new course called 'Difference'. This is a Christian course looking at how we can live with and get along with others who think differently from us. More info is attached and the course outline is here. It's five sessions on Thursdays at 7pm on Zoom (starting Feb 25th). To find out more or register your interest, contact Ruth or Jo.
Zoom Reflections - Marian and Phil will be leading some reflections on Bible passages on a couple of Sunday evenings in Lent, which will be a good chance to spend time praying through some verses and listening to God. More info to follow.
Young Adults 'Virtual Away Day' - On Saturday 20th Feb: in the morning, some input from Chris and Suzy Wilson and a 'Lent Reset' with Lucy Rycroft; in the evening some games and social time! More details and a sign up form here
As part of the We Are The Groves project, there is a storytelling workshop on Wed 10th Feb, at 10am-noon and again at 5-7pm. The flyer is attached for more info. The events are on Zoom, but non-Zoomers are welcome to make contact in other ways. The hope is build up a bank of stories from the history of the Groves.
Reminder: Scout Group - new committee
And finally, do keep an eye on the Facebook page for new videos. Sam is continuing to take us through Revelation.
May you know God as your rock, your salvation and your unshakable fortress (Psalm 62) in these times.
